5 Best TVP VPN services | Unblock and Stream Polish TV Anywhere

If you are tired of seeing the following message when you try to stream TVP:

"Ze względów licencyjnych materiał jest niedostępny w Twoim kraju.

You need to access TVP with a VPN! Whether you are living outside of Poland and miss your home comfort TV shows or simply like Polish television, you can use a VPN to unblock Telewizja Polska from anywhere.

A VPN spoofs your location so when you go to the TVP website you appear to be in Poland. This means that as soon as you connect to a VPN server in Poland, you can watch TVP from anywhere in the world.

What features does a VPN for TVP need?

The most important thing is for your chosen VPN to have a server in Poland. Without this, you cannot beat TVP’s geo-restrictions. However, to get the very best streaming experience, your VPN must also have:

  1. Servers that actually work with TVP. Television broadcasters spend time and money blocking VPN IP addresses, and not every VPN can provide access to TVP.
  2. Fast Tier-1 servers. Not all VPNs were created equal and to stream content in HD you need a VPN that can provide optimal speeds. Our recommendations are all fast VPNs with uncongested servers.
  3. Zero logs policy. When accessing geo-restricted content that is supposed to be off limits, it is always better to ensure you are doing so privately. With a no logs VPN, you can be assured that your web browsing habits will always remain your own.
  4. Strong VPN encryption. The implementation of VPN encryption will decide the level of privacy you get while connected to the VPN. Our recommendations all have robust encryption to stop your ISP from ever being able to track what you do online.
  5. Apps for all platforms. You may want to watch TVP on a mobile device, a tablet, a laptop, or a desktop machine at various times of the day. The VPNs we have recommended have apps for all popular platforms, letting you stream TVP when you want.
  6. Simultaneous connections. If you have a larger family with various devices, you may want to stream the news on TVP1 while your children stream TVP ABC for kids. The VPNs we have recommended all permit multiple simultaneous connections, so you can enjoy different TVP broadcasts at the same time.

How to stream TVP VoD with a VPN

Using a VPN to access TVP is extremely easy. All you need to do is follow these simple steps:

  1. Subscribe to one of the VPNs in this article. For TVP, we recommend ExpressVPN because it provides the fastest speeds you are likely to encounter. This is ideal for steaming a lot of TVP in HD.
  2. Download the VPN app from your provider and install it on your devices.
  3. Log in to your VPN app using the credentials you selected at sign up.
  4. Choose a server in Poland from the server list and click connect.
  5. Navigate to TVP VoD, and start streaming TVP from outside of Poland.

When you arrive on the TVP website with your VPN connected, you might be served a message that asks you to switch off your ad blocker. If this happens, you will need to disable the ad blocker to stream content on TVP’s website.

Why is TVP blocked outside of Poland?

TVP uses geo-restrictions to stop people from streaming its online TVP VoD service. This is done to comply with the licensing agreements it has in place. When TV broadcasters like TVP license content, they agree to televise that content only within a specified geographic region. In the case of TVP, that is Poland.

If the Polish public television broadcaster did not block TVP1, TVP2, TVP Info, TVP Kultura, TVP Historia, TVP Sport, TVP Series, TVP HD, TVP ABC, and TVP Parliament outside of Poland, it could face legal proceedings for breaking the contracts it has in place.

Luckily, you can use a TVP VPN to bypass those restrictions, and TVP will never know that you bypassed the blocks. This leaves you free to stream TVP without concerns of facing personal repercussions, and without worrying that it could get TVP in trouble.

How does a VPN for TVP work?

A Virtual Private Network for TVP works by concealing your IP address. When you connect to TVP VoD online, the service can tell that you aren’t in Poland because of your foreign IP address. As a result, it serves you a notice that says:

For licensing reasons, the content is not available in your country.

A VPN allows you to connect to a VPN server in Poland. This conceals your real IP address from TVP, allowing you to pretend to be living in Poland. By connecting to a server in Poland, you can stream TVP without the annoying licensing notice.

Can I get a free TVP VPN?

There are hundreds of commercial VPNs on the market, and many of those services claim to be free, but you must be careful when downloading free services. Around 95% of free VPN services collect user data and sell it to third parties (usually advertisers) to create a revenue stream and some even contain malware. This is the opposite of what a VPN is supposed to do, as it is meant to protect your digital privacy.

Some free services will allow you to unblock TVP in theory, but most of them restrict the servers that you can access, meaning it's difficult to find a server in Poland. And even if it does offer a Polish VPN server, and it works with TVP, free VPN plans tend to restrict the number of servers that are available or enforce a monthly download limit - allowing you to watch just a few episodes each month.

Thus, if you want to be able to access TVP regularly, we recommend opting for a premium VPN that provides lightning fast connections. A premium VPN that permits multiple simultaneous connections can cost as little as $24 per year, which is a great price to pay for unlimited online privacy and freedom of access.

Stream more content!

A VPN will let you stream content that is blocked in your region, not just TVP. This means that you can unblock US Netflix or other American services like Hulu, stream BBC iPlayer outside the UK or even unblock YouTube on school WiFi. Basically, whatever streaming service you can think of, these VPNs will likely have a server that can unblock it. Most VPNs have really helpful staff working pretty much 24/7 and they will be more than happy to help if you wanted to know if their VPN works with a particular streaming service.

What can I stream on TVP?

As one of Poland’s primary television broadcasters, the range of options available on TVP is extremely good. TVP1 and TVP2 broadcast news, talk shows, sports, entertainment, Polish series, translated foreign shows, and children’s programming.

Its various other channels provide programming that is more targeted and focussed on those various areas, depending on your needs. Below we have included a list of some more notable and popular shows that are currently available to stream online in the Polish language with a TVP VPN:
