The Best way to watch the EPL in the UK

With the 2020-21 EPL season now underway, here are the best options for streaming matches online with a VPN:

Sky Sports and BT Sport

Sky Sports and BT Sport have exclusive live broadcasting rights for the vast majority of Premier League football matches. Both of those British services are subscription services, which means there is usually no way to watch matches without paying.

Most people consider Sky Sports to be the best way to stream the EPL, but this comes with a lengthy contract. Fortunately, NowTV is a UK streaming service owned by Sky that lets you purchase weekly or monthly passes to Sky Sports. A NowTV Sky Sports Pass costs £8.99 a day, £31.99 (US $49.90) a month, or £199 for the whole season

If you pay for a British Sky Sports account, you can use the Sky Go App to watch Premiership matches on two devices. BT Sport customers, on the other hand, can either watch the football in their browser – or by using the BT Sport app for iOS or Android.

BBC iPlayer

The BBC is showing some live EPL matches for free this season. And, you can use a VPN to access BBC iPlayer to stream highlights of the EPL each week on Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2.

Using a VPN to unblock iPlayer and stream free EPL content is extremely easy, so you have no reason not to enjoy at least some EPL football. So far, the BBC has announced that it will be broadcasting Leicester vs Burnley on the 20th of September.

Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime has won the broadcasting rights to 20 Premiership games in 2020/21. To watch those matches, simply use a VPN to subscribe to Prime as if you were in the UK. This will give you a UK Prime account, which means that you will automatically gain access to the football.

Can I watch Premier League for free?

Last season Sky TV and Amazon broadcast a few matches for free, and you can watch catchup of matches for free on BBC's match of the day. Thus, it is worth getting a cheap VPN subscription to enjoy the football this season.

If you are a fan of British football and you can't afford an expensive streaming subscription, a VPN is the best way to watch as much football for free as possible.

Premier League Build Up

With all matches being played behind closed doors and a lack of a proper pre-season, we’ve seen some unique results so far. Last weekend’s scores were bonkers, entertaining, and for Manchester United fans, hard to bear.

So far, Everton has managed to get off to an unblemished start, winning their first four matches in a row. However, Aston Villa, Leicester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool all now have three wins apiece, so it is still extremely close up at the top of the division.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s Manchester United were beaten yet again on their last outing against Crystal Palace. Despite getting 17 shots off during the match, the team managed only to get five on target – and scored just one goal – giving Crystal Palace an emphatic 3-1 win.

The match again highlighted the unfortunate frailties that Manchester United appear to have in their current squad. They will now be looking forward to their match against Newcastle on the 17th, to see if they can finally start to get some real points onto the scoreboard.

Elsewhere, Arsenal managed to pull off a nice defeat against Fulham, earning themselves a much-needed win to stay in contention at the top of the table. Chelsea beat Brighton, which was to be expected, but the boys in blue will need to keep on with that momentum after having lost and drawn two for their first four matches, leaving them down in 7th overall.

The good news for Liverpool fans continued into a third consecutive week, allowing their initial demolition at the hands of Aston Villa to slowly and embarrassingly fade away from supporter's minds. Though, admittedly, Aston Villa's current standing up in second place is bound to be a sore lump in their throat.

The next fixtures are as follows:

SATURDAY 17th OCTOBER

  • Everton vs Liverpool- 12:30
  • Chelsea vs Southampton – 15:00
  • Leicester City vs Aston Villa – 15:00
  • Newcastle United vs Manchester United – 15:00
  • Sheffield United vs Fulham – 15:00
  • West Bromwich Albion vs Burnley – 15:00
  • Manchester City vs Arsenal – 17:30

SUNDAY 18TH OCTOBER

  • Crystal Palace vs Brighton vs Hove Albion – 14:00
  • Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United – 16:30

MONDAY 19TH OCTOBER

  • Leeds United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers – 20:00

Don’t miss a minute of the action by using a VPN and one of the methods mentioned in this article.
