Sadly for many tennis fans around the world - not everywhere shows the tournament on TV. Plus, Geo-restrictions mean that it is not easy to watch the Australian Open live online. But don’t worry! With a VPN anybody can quickly and easily spoof their location overseas to unblock Australian Open live streams.

To unblock the Australian Open 2024, we recommend NordVPN. It provides everything you need from a VPN in order to stream the Australian Open online!

Where to watch the Australian Open online

The easiest way to watch an Australian Open live stream free is to go to Australia's Channel 9. To do so you will need to pretend to be in Australia using a VPN. This is the first year that channel 9 has shown the tennis in Australia (previously it has been shown on Channel 7).

The Australian Open 2024 so far

So far the early rounds of the Australian Open have seen some of the best action we have seen in years! Unfortunately for British viewers, Andy Murray lost in a 5 set thriller to Spain’s Bautista Agut.

Federer won against Denis Istomin in straight sets, setting himself up nicely for a rest before the second round. In the round of 64, he will face Britain’s Dan Evans. Rafael Nadal and Djokovic are also progressing nicely in the tournament.

On the women’s side of the draw, both Venus and Serena Williams have sailed through their early matches. Serena is hot favorite to win the tournament despite being seeded only 16th. Carolina Wozniacki and Sloane Stephens also progressed into the next round. However, they will all need to defeat the likes of Kerber, Savalenka, and Svitolina, to have a chance of coming out on top!
